Professor John Northover retired from St Mark’s in May 2012. The Northover collection records some of his final contributions as a staff member to the life of the hospital. Part 1: Rectal Prolapse Lecture This lecture traced the development of today’s operative procedures for rectal prolapse and went on to compare the relative pros and cons of today’s options; highlighting the lack of objective evidence to underpin these comparisons. Finally it oulined the results of the only large randomised trial to address these issues.
